REGISTRATION

The QPA recognizes the desire to include ponies of various colors and color patterns. Acceptance of color will enable breeders to raise a variety of recognizable color patterns onto the quarter pony size and conformation.   The QPA will promote correct, well-balanced, sound pony with quarter type conformation and enough body, speed, and eye appeal to sufficiently compete with larger breeds as well as other ponies.

QPA is an not a registry.  Instead of creating another registry, the QPA forms alliances with Quarter Pony registries.  To qualify for QPA benefits, ponies must be registered with one of the affiliated Quarter Pony registries.  Currently the Western Quarter Pony Registry and the NEW International Quarter Pony Registry IN TN are QPA affiliated registries.

For a registry to be considered for affiliation, the QPA Board of Directors reviews the registration practices of that registry.  Before an affiliation is formed, the registry's registration requirements as well as their customer service are taken into consideration.

The points that would keep QPA from forming an affiliation are:

bullet

The registries process are not strict enough to ensure only the best ponies are registered

bullet

The registry does not promote ponies with the same Physical Characteristics as the QPA

bullet

There is sufficient information from our members that the registry is not providing proper customer service

bullet

There is any information that the registry is associated with any illegal activity

NOTE:   THE QUARTER PONY ASSOCIATION IS NOT ASSOCIATED/AFFILIATED WITH THE OLD IQPA THAT WAS BASED OUT OF CALIFORNIA.  IQPA REGISTERED PONIES MUST HAVE THEIR PAPERS CONVERTED BY THE NEW IQPA IN TN TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR QPA BENEFITS.
