HYPP POLICY

Effective January 1, 2006, all ponies that are known decedents of Impressive must submit HYPP test results to IQPA prior to breeding them unless the Impressive lineage has already been proven to no longer carry the HYPP gene.  (This means that once a pony has been tested as N/N, then none of their offspring have to be tested.)

Link to list of known HYPP carriers!

Ponies that are H/H, will not be allowed to be used for breeding.  Any foal they produce will not be allowed to be registered no matter what the foal's HYPP test results are.

For ponies that are N/H, only the mares may be used for breeding.

ALL H/H and N/H STALLIONS MUST BE GELDED!

For hardship registered ponies, it is up to the discretion of IQPA to determine if the pony resembles Impressive bred horses.   If you are asked to get an HYPP test done on your pony, you must have the results in to IQPA before breeding the pony.  Hardshiped ponies that are H/H or N/H will follow the same rules as above.

If you have any questions, you can either submit your question to registration@iqpa.com or call 931/623-3173.
